We are offering a valuable industrial internship opportunity for enthusiastic Mechanical Engineering undergraduates / recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in a real-world engineering environment.
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work on practical projects including:

Design & CAD modeling (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Fusion 360)
Manufacturing process improvement & quality control
Maintenance planning and troubleshooting of mechanical systems
Assembly, testing & commissioning of equipment / prototypes
Assisting in project documentation, drawings and technical reports
Exposure to workshop practices, machining, welding, and safety standards

Responsibilities
  • Design, modeling, and drafting of mechanical components and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360).
  • Support manufacturing process improvements, including observing production lines, identifying bottlenecks, and suggesting minor efficiency enhancements.
  • Participate in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities for mechanical systems, machinery, and tools.
  • Help with assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning of prototypes, machines, or mechanical equipment.
  • Prepare technical documentation, drawings, reports, work instructions, and project updates.
  • Work on-site in the workshop to gain hands-on experience with machining, welding, fabrication, fitting, and safe use of tools & equipment.
  • Perform any other engineering-related support tasks assigned by the supervisor to contribute to ongoing projects.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate student in BSc / BEng Mechanical Engineering OR recent graduate
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical design principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and strength of materials
  • Familiarity with at least one CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD preferred)
  • Good communication skills (Sinhala / English)
  • Eager to learn, proactive attitude and ability to work in a team
